Vijayawada Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday virtually launched the month-long Jagananna Suraksha programme to enroll all eligible leftover beneficiaries into various welfare schemes and resolve people’s issues on the grievance-redressal platform Jaganannaku Chebudam.
Jagananna Suraksha, a massive public outreach programme, will cover 1.6 crore families in 15,004 village and ward secretariats across the State facilitating the administration at the doorstep of every household. Suraksha camps will be conducted at secretariat level in every Mandal from July 1. The massive exercise is aimed at reaching out to 5.3 crore citizens.
Launching the programme from his camp office at Tadepalli near here, the Chief Minister said Jagananna Suraksha will handhold all leftover eligible beneficiaries from the stage of enrollment to delivery of welfare benefits. It is especially aimed at extending the government services and welfare schemes to all eligible people, he said.
“While Janmabhoomi Committees during the TDP rule harassed people seeking bribes for extending welfare benefits, we have been extending 600 types of services at the village level through secretariats transparently for the last four years,” he stated, adding that eligibility only served as the criteria for extending the benefits.
So far, eligible people irrespective of caste, creed and political loyalties, have received welfare benefits worth Rs 3.10 lakh crore through Navaratnalu including Rs 2.16 lakh crore through DBT welfare schemes in full transparency ushering in real Grama Swaraj, he stated emphatically.
“About 98 to 99 per cent of the eligible people are receiving welfare benefits. We are enrolling the leftover people into the welfare schemes through bi-annual exercises in July and December, still, there may be some people uncovered for any reason even after grievance redressal through Jaganannaku Chebudam. All those grievances will be effectively addressed in Jagananna Suraksha,” he observed.
Volunteers, secretariat conveners, Gruhasaradhulu, public representatives and other enthusiasts would visit the families from tomorrow and find out the details of people uncovered by the welfare schemes despite having eligibility.
Officials consisting of MPDO and Deputy Tahsildar in first team and Panchayat Raj EO and Tahasildar in the second team at Mandal level and Municipal Commissioner and his staff in the first team and Zonal Commissioner and his staff in the second team will participate in the camps.
